I wouldn’t think of tripe as that uncommon! I think I recently had some in a bowl of phở!
You’d be surprised with exactly how many people wouldn’t touch the stuff. As for me, make me up a bowl any day!
This was the same restaurant that my friends and I searched all over Old San Juan for a bowl of that delicious tripe soup! Arg– do you remember the name of this restaurant? Or the street that it was on? I want to go visit again or to recommend this delicious place to friends. Thanks!
Yeah no worries, sorry for the late reply I had to do a bit of research. I don’t remember the name of the restaurant but I believe it’s located right off of Calle Tetuan about a block or so southwest of the square. Look for a red awning. 🙂
I have had tripe and stomach many times. Stomach I don’t mind but tripe is really a hit or a miss.
Yeah both of these are pretty exotic dishes and deserve to be served with care. Its just amazing how something so unusual ( to your typical person) can be so delicious!
