After my trip East of Alberta towards the Canadian Badlands and visiting the Jurassic side of Canada, my friends & I made our way towards Banff.
The backcountry was exquisitely breathtaking and, although well within reach, seemed untouched.
But once we got out of the car and did a hike up Johnston Canyon and a few other trails, we had the opportunity to see a few scenic overlooks of some major landmarks in the area.
So, without further ado, enjoy today photo essay as we explore the Canadian Backcountry of Banff and the surrounding vicinity from a locals point of view!
The Beauty of Banff National Park Northern Rockies
Have you ever been to Banff National Park in the Northern Rockies of Canada?
Gorgeous photos! We were hoping to get to Banff this past summer, but didn’t end up making it there. Hopefully next summer we can take a road trip there! Looks like such an amazing spot!
That’s a bummer, I hope you get to make it out next Summer to enjoy the beauty!
Oh, my! Stunning place! And you saw a reindeer AND a black bear? sounds too good to be true!
I know, we got extremely luckky. Even managed to get a glimpse of a female moose but she was too fast for us to get any shots in! 😛
Wonderful photos that really capture the spirit of this majestic place!
Thanks! 😀
Nope, never been to Banff, but everyone has been writing about it lately. I think it is definitely somewhere to visit when I get to Canada 🙂 those photos are absolutely stunning 🙂
Thanks Sammi! You should definitely visit Banff soon…the place is stunning. I think my next trip there will be during ski season! 😉
Amazing photos – I can’t wait to get to Banff!! I love that you saw a black bear – so unbelievably cool!!
Thanks Meg, it was very cool! My friends and I were driving down the road and saw it…that’s when we slammed on the brakes so I could get a quick shot! haha
