Touring the backcountry of Colorado is always a pleasure, especially if you get to experience it in a place as beautiful as Independence Pass.
Getting outside, camping, hiking and enjoying the outdoors with friends is definitely, what I consider, the icing on the cake for this part of North America.
But in the Autumn, while the colors are flourishing particularly brighter than they do any other time of year, is when you get the best of the best when in search for the best Fall foliage in this part of the world.
You can virtually find any shade of red, yellow, orange, brown & just about all other colors under the sun. Not only that, but this also happens to be the time when most people are either at work or in school; allowing you to fully enjoy your time outdoors.
Taking an afternoon away from the blogosphere, hike with me as I tour the backcountry of Aspen, Colorado in today’s Fall Foliage Tour Photo Essay!

What is your favorite time of year to go outdoors?
I love the autmun!!! The leaves are so pretty!
They sure are!
Awesome post. What can I say, love Colorado, love the colors!
Me too! This is easily one of the most beautiful states I’ve been to in North America! 🙂
Beautiful photos. It is such a gorgeous time of year, I love seeing the leaves change color. It is especially gorgeous with those mountains in the background!
It sure is Lauren…if only you could see it in person!
I would truly love to see Colorado in the fall – OMG it just looks so amazingly beautiful! We’ve visited in winter, but fall would definitely be a treat, especially for photos!
You’d love it Meg…it certainly is quite the treat and a fantastic place to spend some quality time at! 🙂
Love the fall colours! We’re losing the leaves now up here in Ottawa, Canada but I went for a 2 hour hike this weekend up through the hills and it was still beautiful!
Yeah the leaves are coming down quickly here as well in Aspen, Colorado. I’m going to squeeze in another good hike tomorrow but the snow has been coming in at the top of the mountain…something tells hiking is coming to a close already this season as winter approaches!
