Flowers of Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica
The Arenal Volcano National Park in Costa Rica had been one of the most beautiful, pristine and tropical hikes I’ve ever been on in my life.
Surpassing the Flora of Hawaii and some of its hiking trails, Cerro Chato (a dormant volcano which lies next to Arenal) offers an amazing hiking trail that florists would lose themselves in!
Butterflies really enjoyed this bush of purple flowers!
Within the initial first steps of your hike you immediately begin to see a wide variety of colors sticking straight out to you! Purples, reds, pinks, blues, yellows…just about any colored flower you could imagine lived happily at the base of the volcano!
A very exotic flower with the texture of glossy silk!
As you continue your hike, it was not rare to see flowers in all stages. To the left you see the flower here beginning to bloom and to the right it lives in pure glory!
My favorite…A very diversified Bird of Paradise!
There were many different color, shape and sizes of the Bird of Paradise. This one was personally my favorite has it was quite diversified in have a wide variety of colors!
Rugged yet gorgeous!
Although this tree seemed a bit rugged due to the caterpillars consuming it, it still stood out with it’s light purple flowers blooming in the sunshine.
Wouldn’t you like a bite of this one?
Looking like something you would see at the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory, I had a strong urge to bite into this candy like flower…doesn’t it look delicious!
This one was very large and very…very pink!
One of the largest flowers I saw during the hike was this one! Also one of the favorite meals for the caterpillars, I could have put my hands one on top of the other and she would have measured a bit larger! So beautiful! What’s your favorite place for viewing flowers?
