Kayaking has always been high on my list of adventure activities to uphold. It can be both exhilarating, yet relaxing at the same time. Ultimately, it depends on the location you plan to put the boat in the water!
While I was completing my 4th road trip across the United States, I saw some pretty cool things. Between the breathtaking mountains surrounding Mount Rushmore and the luscious green pastures in Kentucky, it was nice having a change of scenery.
I only wish I had more time to kayak at all of these different locations.
But here in Florida, where the roots of all my travels began, it was nice spending a day with my Dad on the open waters. What made it even better was the fact that we decided to kayak during the week where we virtually had the entire place to ourselves…with the occasional alligator sunbathing. I couldn’t have imagined what it would have been like kayaking, even in the middle of the week, somewhere like Clearwater Beach or Destin, Florida.
But I digress, take a look at the beautiful moments I captured on camera while exploring this pristine wilderness in today’s photo essay. If you ever get the chance to go kayaking in North Central Florida, I highly recommend exploring this small piece of the Ocala National Forest.
Kayaks in the Water, Now It’s Time to Paddle
There was a ton of wildlife to be seen during this kayaking adventure if only I was fast enough to catch all of it. Between the scenery, beautiful weather and company of my father, we had a spectacular 5-hour long cruise into the Juniper Prairie Wilderness and would highly recommend you take this adventure for yourself one day!
What’s your favorite location to go boating?
