As your road tripping across the United States and make that swing through the famous Las Vegas strip, another stop that you cannot forget about is visiting the great Hoover Dam.
Looking at the sheer amount of effort that went into constructing this amazing feat of the architect, it’s no wonder how this massive construction holds enough water to provide for over 29 million homes…crazy right!?
As we parked the car at a nearby parking lot, my road trip buddies and I began the short walk from the Arizona side of the dam. You don’t realize exactly how high up you are until you start peeking over the ledge.
The wind coming from the riverbed below was strong enough that, when you emptied a cup of water over the ledge, it would simply throw it up into the air like a hot spring to come splashing down pleasingly on your forehead.
This was very nice considering the summer temperatures were soaring to almost 110 degrees Fahrenheit! Topping off my water bottle at the nearby water fountain, we continued to walk around and enjoy the breathtaking view on one of America’s most accomplished structures.
